Jayda Alexus Harmon

Jayda Alexus Harmon, 18, of Ephrata, Washington, passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, due to osteosarcoma of the pelvis. She was born March 12, 1999 in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of Josh and Erika (Nash) Harmon. Jayda attended Ephrata schools and graduated from Ephrata High School in 2017, where she played basketball, ran the 100m hurdles, relay, and long jump in track and field, and played all four years on the soccer team. Just before her cancer diagnosis, she was accepted to play soccer for the Walla Walla Warriors, and was excited to enroll in college there. Jayda came into this world as a fighter and left as a fighter. She was beautiful, strong, and a courageous young woman. Jayda had the biggest heart you could imagine – she was always thinking of, and putting others before herself – even while she was fighting her fight. Jayda had that beautifully contagious smile that lit up the room. She loved her parents, family and friends like no other and had a genuine love for sports and animals. Her love for her pets was remarkable. If Jayda could, she would have brought home every pet she came across. Throughout the years Jayda had many pets; cats, dogs, fish, spiders, snakes, rabbits, geckos, 4H pigs, and even a mini pig. She was tom boy and a stylish girl all at once. During her illness and final days, Jayda’s lively humor and strength was an inspiration. Jayda is survived by her parents Josh and Erika Harmon; her grandparents Joyce and Cliff Harmon and Carol Ann and Bernie Nash; her aunts and uncle John Harmon, Mike and Alma Harmon, Amber Harmon, Kjristi and Dan Nash-Carlton, Lowell and Angy Nash, Nathan and Karyn Nash, Mariel and Mark Ouradnik, Kenneth and Victoria Nash; her cat Lemon; her dog Greigh; her pig Balooh; and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at Nicoles Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m, 1-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017 at the Ephrata High School Gym with graveside service to follow at the Ephrata Cemetery.
