Walter (Wally) E. Hursh, Jr. Wally was born January 17, 1955 in Wenatchee, Washington, and departed this world on September 20, 2017 at his home in Ephrata, Washington. He was middle of five children born to Walt and Lillian Hursh (Kuhlman). Among his favorite childhood memories were spending time with his grandparents at the family wheat farm on Badger Mountain riding on an old tractor and plowing the fields with his grandfather Kuhlman. As a young man, Wally was involved in Boy Scouts of America and played the trumpet in the East Wenatchee Marching Band. Wally married Patricia Rogers and together they moved to Kirkland, Washington, where they raised two daughters, Sarah and Carly. Wally worked for Genie Industries most of his adult life, first in Redmond, and then returning to Eastern Washington to the Moses Lake facility where he retired after 36 years in May 2017 due to health reasons. After transferring to Moses Lake’s Genie plant, he met and married Nancy White (Loeffelbein) on the banks of Lake Conconully. Wally was an outdoorsman. He loved to fish, hunt, and camp in their R.V., he was also a member of the Okanogan A.T.V Club. Wally and Nancy had adventures exploring unknown roads during impromptu day trips but his favorite place was Conconully, Washington, where he and Nancy were finally able to buy a small piece of paradise on Salmon Creek. Family and friends will remember many good times target shooting, boating, swimming, fishing and riding ATVs in the mountains. Missing him are his mother, Lillian Hursh of East Wenatchee, daughters, Sarah of Kirkland, Washington, and Carly of Kingsgate, Washington, wife, Nancy of the family home, brothers Kenneth (Tanna) of Leavenworth, Washington, Ronald of Badger Mountain, Washington, sister, Susan Bender (Donald) of Duvall, Washington, step children, Kevin (Danielle) Hensley of Othello, Washington, Nicole Lindgren of East Wenatchee, Washington, step grandchildren, Trenton, Nathan, Jacob, Cutler, and Jackson Hensley, and Kyrie Lindgren, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding him in death are his father, Walt Hursh, and brother, Edward.
