Zoe E Anderson

Zoe Anderson, 86 of Ephrata passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Zoe was born in Seattle, Washington on August 24, 1937 to Lewis and Lois Haselton where she joined an older brother, Otis. Her family moved to the Quincy Valley when she was just a small child, becoming some of the pioneers there. She attended Quincy schools growing up and graduated in 1955. She then joined the U.S. Marine Corps where she proudly served her country in 1956 and 1957 and got to see a lot of the world. She met Ernie McCart while in the Marine Corps and they married later in 1959 and resided in Watsonville, California where she would welcome a son, Randy and a daughter, Terri. Zoe and her new family moved back to the state of Washington and lived in Wenatchee before returning to the Quincy Valley to raise her kids and be close to her family. She later married Loyd Anderson in 1970 and helped run their upholstery shop. She enjoyed sewing and was very good at it and became a seamstress making things or alterations for many that she knew. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years in 1997. She then moved to Ephrata in 2008 where she could be close to her daughter. She enjoyed feeding and watching wild birds and playing out in her garden and growing things that some of her great grandkids could come and pick along side of her. She learned from her Aunt Faye Morris how to make braided rugs and had many of them in her home. She also enjoyed going to the ocean at Long Beach where the family has a cabin and she could sit and enjoy the beautiful beach sunsets for hours on end. She was a fixture at her daughters sign shop in Ephrata where she would get her daily dose of what she called her free retched coffee. She lived a simple life and enjoyed whatever life had to offer and rarely complained about anything. She is survived by her brother Otis Haselton of East Wenatchee, her daughter Terri McCart of Ephrata, her son Randy McCart of Malaga, grand kids Christopher McCart, Lindsay McCart and Bryan McCart, cousins Judy Smitha and Sally Curran of Moses Lake, Bert VanWagner of Tucson, Arizona and Jennifer Johnson of Portland, Oregon. She was a friend to anyone that needed one and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. There will be no services at her request.
