January 29, 1974 - June 6, 2022
Carriann Gray, 48, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 6, 2022. She was born in Olympia on January 29, 1974, to Kenneth and Michelle Gray. Soon after her birth her father joined the United States Air Force, and her childhood was spent traveling the United States and Europe as a military family. She graduated from W. E. Stebbins High School in Dayton, Ohio in 1992 and went on to major in Biblical Studies with a minor in Religious Education at Cedarville University. Prior to the pandemic, Carri had begun pursuing a Masters Degree in Library Science. As a young adult she was a devoted youth group leader. She loved serving as a mentor and helping with missions trips. She carried this love of helping and serving others throughout her life; she frequently helped strangers in need and would call or text her family with stories. Carri loved nature, long walks, and especially reading. But the greatest joys in her life were her two daughters; Jessica, born in 2002, and Rachel, born in 2003. Carri moved to Ephrata, WA in 2011. She worked for North Central Regional Libraries, at the Ephrata, Soap Lake and Moses Lake branches. She especially loved her time working as the children’s librarian. She was always active in her church communities wherever she lived, playing piano for the worship services and helping with children’s church. She loved praising God and sharing that joy with others. Carri is survived by her daughters Jessica Forbis and Rachel Forbis, her parents Kenneth and Michelle Gray, her sister Susie Hulsopple and husband Alan, her sister Kemi Ping and husband Eric, her brother Kenny Gray and fiancée Trisha New, and many nieces and nephews. Carri will be remembered for her deep and abiding love for God as well as her amazing smile and ability to touch the hearts of strangers. Her family invites all her friends and colleagues to her memorial service at Nicole’s Funeral Home in Ephrata on Monday, June 13 at 1:30 pm, with reception to follow.
