Florence Elizabeth Schlenz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Florence "Flo" Elizabeth Norquay Schlenz born February 17, 1939 to William Norquay and Florence Henderson in Winnipeg, Manitoba gained her wings on March 30, 2022. Flo's father was an early settler on the prairies of Manitoba. Her mother was born in England to an English mother and German Jewish birth father. When she was a child they arrived in Canada. Flo and her family lived in a log home that her father built. She graduated High School in Cloverdale, Manitoba and then started to work for Great West Life in Winnipeg, and several other jobs before moving to Washington State. In 1968 she met her husband Donald and married November 22, 1969 in Everett, Washington. Together they shared Donald's three children, Fred, Don Jr., and Mary Joan. Flo worked at Lamb Weston in Quincy. She later started her job at Grant County Journal, where she worked in sales and then retired. Flo had several hobbies that included: gardening, camping, fishing, crocheting, bowling, playing cards, cooking, baking, and spending time with her friends and family. Flo was a member of Ephrata Eagles #3338, American Legion #28, and the Moose Lodge. Flo is survived by her brother Bob (Jane) Norquay, nephews; Jeremy (Robin) Norquay, Matthew Norquay, Gavin (Jena) Norquay, Darryl (Lynette) Carriere and Cindy Carriere, five great grand nephews, one great niece, all of Canada. Her stepchildren, Fred (Joy) of East Wenatchee, Don Jr. of Ephrata, Mary Joan of Bellingham. Seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren, numerous other family members. Flo is predeceased in death by both parents, her sister Rose, niece Michelle, and husband Donald Sr.
