Jeanne K. Michael Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jeanne Kinney Michael, 81, a resident of Soap Lake passed peacefully of natural causes on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th, 2013 at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. Jeanne was born in Denver, CO on September 20th 1932 and moved with her family to Pittsburgh, TX when she was very young. From Texas the Kinney family moved to Payette, ID and became a large part of the community. In Payette, Jeanne converted to the Catholic faith, married Richard Hanigan and together they raised four sons. After a 20year marriage, she and Richard divorced and Jeanne later married Charles (Chuck) Michael. Jeanne and Chuck settled in Soap Lake where Charles worked as a pharmacist, and still resides. Jeanne was a loving mother and everyone loved her for her quick wits and storytelling. She was an accomplished pianist, studying music at the University of Idaho. And, she was the organist and music director at Holy Family Catholic Parish, in Payette, ID for several years. Jeanne is preceded in death by her father and mother, Arthur Vincent Kinney and Arlene Robinson Kinney. She is survived by her husband Chuck and his four children from a previous marriage Greg, Kelly, Kurt and Perry; her two siblings Sunny (husband Rene) Bertheau and Chuck (wife Dianne) Kinney; her four sons Art (wife Georgia), Tom (wife Elena), Pat and John Hanigan; her five nieces and nephews Julie (Bowen), Robert, and “namesake” Jeanne (Joslin) Bertheau, and Josh and Jessica Kinney; her four grandchildren Arlie (husband Patrick) Walters, Hayley, Natalie and Andrew Hanigan; and two great-grandsons Hayden and Vincent Walters. A memorial service for Jeanne will be held at Nicole’s Funeral Home in Ephrata, WA on Sunday December 8th at 1 pm. Please call the funeral home at (509) 754-3420 for any further information.
