May 10, 1970 - December 12, 2020
With profound sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Michael Campbell, 50, on December 12, 2020 at his home in Ephrata Washington. Michael was a loving father, brother and friend, who always had a smile on his face and touched countless lives. He was born in Renton Washington on May 10, 1970 to Ralph Bucklen and Marilyn Campbell and was raised in Kent Washington. He attended Kent Meridian High School where he graduated in 1988. For many years, he owned and operated a large commercial painting company with multiple employees. He eventually relocated to Ephrata with his family, including his 2 daughters. About that time, Michael started a new business focusing on land purchasing and developing. He was an accomplished craftsman, and his technical, mechanical, painting, and construction skills were unparalleled. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend or family member in need. He was a member and volunteer board member of Rimrock Meadows Association for many years and developed an affinity for the Rimrock community. He followed in the footsteps of his father, who was a Kent Fire Department Chief, and volunteered at Grant County Fire Dist. #13 both as a firefighter and an EMS provider. Michael was a dedicated father first and foremost. He treasured his children and embraced every moment with them. He loved to cook, especially grilling and baking. He was an outdoorsman and avid hunter. He loved hunting, camping, and road trips with his daughters. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Bucklen and his mother Marilyn Campbell. He is survived by his daughters Makenna and Marissa, brothers Dan and Tom Patrick and Dave Bucklen, sisters Kathy Edwards and Christine Bucklen, as well as many nieces and nephews. We love you and hope you find peace - you will always be missed. Services will be held at Nicoles Funeral Home in Ephrata . Please note due to COVID, attendance will be very limited. We want to thank his good friend Kendra Cagaly for helping all of us through this trying time. In lieu of flowers, please call a loved one and tell them how much you care for them or consider making a donation to Grant County Fire Dist. #13 (https://grant13firerescue.org/contact.html) or the Washington State Fire Fighters Association (https://members.wsffa.org/ap/donate/1nLvdmpk).
