February 2, 1948 - February 28, 2015
Patty Malone Cannon, 67, of Ephrata, Wa passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Patty was an amazingly strong woman who fought tooth and nail for many years against the cancer that took her life, more than anyone believed she could survive. She was a hard-headed Irish woman who never gave up a fight. But unfortunately the pot-lid method of problem solving only worked for so long and eventually she decided to let go. She is survived by her ever-patient spouse Terry, five not quite as patient children, 4 siblings, too many grandchildren to count and 2.5 great-grandchildren. For anyone who knew her, Patty was one of the most selfless people they had ever had the fortune to know. Patty’s number one priority in life was her family, of which there are too many members to list and honestly would cause carpal tunnel syndrome to set in if all the names were to be listed here. She was forever putting everyone else first and though some may view that as a sacrifice, for her, it was the way she wanted to live and even at the end her main concern was that everyone around her was happy. In fact, some of her parting words were that we all needed to get back to our regular lives or she was going to “kick the living…you know what….out of us” Patty had a long and successful career ending in retirement from the Grant County Prosecuting Attorney’s office. She formed many wonderful relationships during her working years. But how she would most like to be remembered is as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother…and even great-grandmother. If you want to know how she felt about her life, take a few minutes and listen to one of her favorite songs, “Hell Yeah” by Neil Diamond, she felt amazingly blessed and fulfilled. Patty, we will all miss you so very much but we know that you will never really be far away from any of us. Thank you for creating and making us a part of this wonderful, crazy, amazing family. Nobody will ever come close to filling your shoes, but that’s just because your feet are so damned big! Cheer up Boobie! A celebration of life will be held at noon on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Nicoles Funeral Home, 157 C St. N.W. Her favorite holiday was St. Patrick’s Day and she was very proud of her Irish heritage, so please join us in wearing green instead of the traditional black! Please express your thoughts and memories for the family at www.nicolesfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the care of Nicoles Funeral Home of Ephrata, Wa.
