Gary Sam Gross

Gary Sam Gross, 80, a Wilson Creek, Washington resident, passed away from a sudden heart attack on Monday, July 26, 2021. He is now with his heavenly Father. He was born September 5, 1940 in Wilbur, Washington to Sam and Mollie Gross, the youngest of three children. Gary graduated from Wilson Creek High School as Salutatorian. Then he moved to Pullman, Washington and graduated with honors from Washington State University with a Bachelor’s degree in agronomy. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves. After four years serving his country, he moved home to Wilson Creek to pursue farming. As with anything Gary did, he became successful. Farming was his passion. Initially in 1985 he began farming cattle but switched over to wheat farming which is where his heart was. He loved learning and researching new and upcoming ways in any aspect of farming. That love and passion is what grew his legacy. He married his beloved wife, Bobbie Seals on May 23, 1974 in Wilson Creek at the Grace Baptist Church. Their first child, Stephen Emmanual Gross was born January 22, 1976. Stephen resides in Wilson Creek, working the land with his father, and will continue to farm their land. He feels blessed and enjoyed working alongside his brilliant father who taught him the family business. Their second child, Mollie Marie Gross was born July 15, 1980 and resides in Cashmere, Washington. She has a successful business as an esthetician and cosmetologist as well as being a mom to Dylan Elijah (20), Pierce Emmanuel (18) and Kinsley Monroe (5). Gary was an athlete, playing basketball and baseball in high school. He instilled the love of sports into his own family as well as being competitive and brought that to the family, which was apparent as they all enjoyed playing tennis together. It was their bond. He always loved a good game or challenge. Gary thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their sporting events. He loved watching them grow to be successful with their passions. He was always supportive to others that wanted to better themselves, especially in education and sports. There are people in this world that are considered or known a rocks in the family. Gary was that person, the glue to his family. His work ethic is one of the main things Gary was known for. He may have worked too much but it’s all he knew and loved. His greatest joy was being outside working the farm and taking pride in a hard day’s work. Gary’s strongest virtues was being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, farmer, intellect and athlete. He valued his friends at Coulee City and Odessa Trading Co. having coffee daily and conversing with his valued friends. Gary attended Wilson Creek Baptist Church most of his life. We will always miss his bright blue eyes, his kind smile, and his warm, giving heart. Among other things he constantly tested our knowledge and kept us honest. His known chuckle will be remembered in our thoughts forever. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mollie; and his twin sisters, Donna (Gross) Mollison and Jeannie (Gross) Fleming. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie (Seals) Gross; son, Stephen Emmanuel Gross; daughter, Mollie Marie Gross; grandchildren, Dylan, Pierce, Kinsley; his aunt, Eleanor (Babe) Pendley; five nieces and nephews. Gary’s service will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1 p.m., at Grace Baptist Church in Wilson Creek. Viewing will be held from 11am - 12:30pm. at the church. Graveside will be after the service with a reception following at Grace Baptist
