Trandon Eric Benson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Trandon Eric Benson, a cherished son, devoted father, beloved brother, and a free-spirited soul who brought joy and laughter into the lives of many. Trandon went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023. He was surrounded by close family and friends as he passed peacefully to Heaven. His life was marked by adventure, love, and the joys of fatherhood. Trandon was born on October 20, 1988, in the heart of Fresno, CA. When he and his family moved to the small town of Royal City at an early age, he embraced the smalltown farm life with a carefree spirit of the great outdoors. He and his family, father Brandon, mother Shari, and little sister Samantha, to whom he was a fierce protector, lived in a farmhouse there. He spent his youth exploring the countryside with close friends, where he developed a deep appreciation for nature, laughter, and the camaraderie of friends. His infectious enthusiasm and zest for life were evident to all who knew him, and he never shied away from making lasting memories with those he cared about. From an early age, Trandon's hands were accustomed to the touch of the earth, and he found joy in the simplicity of rural life. The farm became his playground, and he learned the virtues of hard work and perseverance from tending to crops and caring for animals. He was able to showcase this through helping local farmers and joining the local 4-H group to show a pig. These experiences would forge his character and instill in him an unyielding work ethic that he carried throughout his life. As he grew older, he excelled at sports, leaving an indelible mark on the local teams, and earning admiration from his peers. Throughout his high school career, he excelled in sports such as football, golf, and wrestling. On the high school football team, under the guidance of coach Wiley Allred, Trandon and the Royal Knights brought home state trophies and many invaluable memories. While his golf career was short, coach Andrew Perkins can tell you a story or two about Trandon and the value that he brought to the team. As a wrestler, Trandon filled the heavyweight spot on the team, under the guidance of coaches Ben Orth, Bruce Jensen and John Villegas, and the assistance of Justin Conrad. He took home the state champion title his senior year in the 275lb bracket. But it wasn't just his athletic prowess that set him apart; it was his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand that truly endeared him to the community. Anyone who grew up in Royal with Trandon is sure to have a crazy story (or two or three), along with at least one story outlining the kindness that shown through him. While Trandon's heart belonged to farming, life led him down other paths as well. He embraced each opportunity with determination and a relentless work ethic. For a time, he served as a corrections officer, ensuring safety and justice within the community. He worked as a skilled carpet layer, creating cozy spaces for families to make cherished memories. He even delved into the world of diesel mechanics, fixing engines with the same hands that nurtured the land. Yet, through all these experiences, Trandon's heart never strayed far from the farm. He cherished the freedom it offered, the connection with nature, and the sense of fulfillment that came from watching the seeds he sowed flourish into abundant harvests. In the end, Trandon returned to the land that held his heart. He embraced his true passion once more, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to the farm he knew and loved. Surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds, he found solace and peace in the embrace of nature. As matters of the heart go, about five years ago Trandon met Brittney Jensen and the two of them quickly became inseparable. Brittney had two young children, Cameron, and Kaylee, whom he affectionately called his own, showering them with the same love and care as any devoted father would. The two of them then welcomed Braxton Bam Benson in August of 2019. Anyone who saw them saw a happy family of five. The joy and love he shared with his young children were immeasurable, and he cherished every moment they spent together. Trandon's family meant the world to him. Trandon's spirit was one of adventure and fearlessness. He lived life with an open mind and a vibrant soul that touched the lives of all who crossed his path. His magnetic personality, warm smile, and genuine laughter will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him. As we bid farewell to Trandon Eric Benson, we find solace in the memories he created the love he shared, and the legacy he leaves behind. May his memory inspire us to embrace life fully, to cherish our loved ones, and to find happiness in even the simplest of moments, or as Trandon’s tattooed knuckles would say: LIVE LIFE. Trandon is survived by his parents, Brandon Benson of Ephrata, Shari Benson of Moses Lake, sister Samantha (Dalton) Shiflett of Ephrata, his pride and joy, son Braxton (Mother Brittney Jensen) of Royal City, and her children Cameron and Kaylee also of Royal City. He is also survived by his only nephew Kameron and soon to be niece/nephew whom he was so excited to meet. Trandon is preceded in death by his grandma, Edris Herodes, his Grandpa, Ron Herodes, close friend, Jamie Shiflett, and close friend, Shawn Stanley.
