Victor Richard Mack

Victor R. Mack, a man who cherished his family and had a deep passion for the great outdoors, passed away at the age of 68 on April 26, 2023. Born an hour before his twin Albert on April 3, 1955, in Ephrata, Washington, he was the second son of eight children born to Albert P. and Karlee D. Mack. Victor was a gifted athlete and was actively involved in several sports during his school years. He was known for his intelligence and creativity, which he used in unique ways. His brother once said, “Our brother could sell refrigerators to Eskimos in Alaska during a blizzard and make a profit!” Victor was a loving and caring brother who admired his siblings. His remaining 5 siblings remember standing on furniture and playing American Bandstand, the water fights outside, hide and go seek in the late summer nights on D Street SW. They would walk to the pool, he always had to carry his little sister Paula, who always managed to get stung by a bee walking across the playground at Parkway Elementary. Despite his mischievous ways, his classmates remember Victor for his humor, intelligence, and charm, he also had a playful side when it came to flirting with the ladies. Even in his final days at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, he couldn’t resist flirting with the nurses who were taking care of him. That was Victor, he had a look, and he could melt your heart and make you believe anything. His family cherished that look and would give anything for just one more. After leaving home at the age of 17, Victor pursued a career in construction before eventually joining Lamb-Weston in Quincy in the early 1980s. It was there that he met the love of his life, Patty Bashaw Vreeman. They married on July 21, 1984, and were blessed with two beautiful daughters. Although he was married to Patty for many years, their relationship eventually ended in divorce. He pursued the life that he chose and admired his children from afar. Victor was a passionate outdoorsman who spent much of his life hunting and fishing in the great outdoors. He was a skilled marksman and a patient angler who loved sharing his knowledge and passion with his children. Victor taught them everything he knew about hunting and fishing, instilling in them a deep respect for nature and its creatures. He would spend hours teaching them how to tie knots, flies, and lures, and showing them where to fish and how to clean the fish once caught. Victor also passed down his expertise to his children, teaching them the safe handling of guns, the art of deer stalking, and the proper way to hunt and clean birds. His children will always cherish the memories of those moments spent with their father, learning from his expertise, and sharing his love for the great outdoors. He is survived by his children, Terrah Bicondova (Steve), and granddaughters Alexis and Olivia, Nicky Krost (Tyler), and grandson Teagen, stepson Matt Vreeman ( Jessica) and their children Caleb, Isaac, and Elena , step-daughter Lisa Riggs (Aaron) and their children Jenna, Payton, Cade, and Drew, sister Peggy Long (Ken) of Forks, brothers Albert, Ted, and David of Ephrata, Karl of Athol, Idaho , sisters-in-laws who are more like our sisters, Roxanne Mack of Ephrata, Laureen Tolsma of Ferndale, and Patty Walker of Ephrata, nieces and nephews Stacey Erickson of Wenatchee, Gary Carroll, Alesha Judkins (Kevin) of Ephrata, Eric Mack of Ferndale, Jamie (Matt) Haugness of Lynden, Diane Alvarez of Montana, Daniel (Melissa) Long of Richland, Kerry Long of Forks, Jared Mack (Karinne) of Soap Lake, Jacob (Kayci), Jeremiah (Sara), and Jesse Van Velkinburgh (Jeri) of Ephrata, Nathan (Jennifer), Aaron, and Phillip Mack of Ephrata, numerous in-laws and out-laws and great nieces and nephews, cousins, and the list goes on and on. He was preceded in death by his father Albert P. Mack, his mother Karlee D. Brown, his brother John, and his sister Paula. As we bid farewell to Victor R. Mack, we take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy will live on through his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his passion for the outdoors, his zest for adventure, his infectious charm, and his ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him. Victor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Victor. In accordance with Victor’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Instead, a celebration of life with family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 21 at 2 pm at 234 18th Ave SW, Ephrata. We invite all who knew and loved Victor to join us in sharing memories, stories, and laughter as we honor his life and legacy.
